Via water
Crowley's Yacht Yard is located 12 miles south of Monroe Street Harbor, two bridges in from the Calumet harbor. Boaters not familiar with the area should use NOAA Charts 14926 & 14929 for directions and for avoiding hazards. The 92nd Street and 95th Street bridges open on demand. They are manned 24-hours a day, seven days a week. The City of Chicago Department of Transportation has asked that we encourage our customers to limit bridge openings to between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. To minimize the number of openings at peak season, we ask that you try to transit bridges at pre-scheduled times. Scheduled openings on weekdays are at 10:00 a.m., noon, 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. On weekends the bridges will have scheduled openings on the hour from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Arriving boaters requiring a bridge lift should hail the 92nd Street bridge tender on VHF Channel 16 just prior to entering the Calumet River. Give the bridge tender your boat name and location, and request a bridge lift. Ask the bridge tender if s/he is aware of any commercial traffic that you should avoid. Wait for any large freighters to clear the river before you enter. Give commercial traffic a wide berth. If you see other mast-up vessels nearby, try to transit the bridges together. Crowley's will be monitoring VHF Channel 16.
Docking
Crowley's Yacht Yard docks and hauling facilities are on the south side of 95th Street. You must continue past the 95th Street bridge to reach our docking and hauling area. Please secure your boat port side to the dock, with three fenders and four docklines (bow, stern, and two spring lines).
