Crowley’s Yacht Yard has been serving Chicago boaters since 1978 when Grant Crowley along with Bruce Rosenzweig founded our first yard located on the Chicago River at Corbett St.

Since that time our number of customers using our facilities had grown and exceeded our 12-acre capacity at Corbett. In 2004 we relocated to a larger facility with new state-of-the-art equipment located on the Calumet River at 95th Street. We are now just a short ride from Lake Michigan.

Our new facility handles both sail and powerboats of all shapes and sizes. With our new equipment and larger facility, we are able to haul, service and store boats up to 70 ft long with a max of 16’6” beam and weight of 35 tons. Just to make things even more modern and convenient our yard is paved and the majority of our indoor storage facilities are heated. We have indoor and outdoor storage options for over 1400 boats. Finally, our customers don’t have to worry about security or safety because our facility is patrolled and has full-time video surveillance.

CUSTOMER SERVICE
The number one priority at Crowley’s is customer service. We want you to be satisfied with our service. It’s a simple statement but it’s also the truth. Therefore we have experienced boaters to staff our facility. Our staff has decades of sailing and powerboat experience to help serve you.

RIGGING SERVICES
We handle both powerboats and sailboats. That means if you have a sailboat for racing or you just like to take your boat out on the lake during the weekends we have services you can use. Whatever the rigging tasks you may have our staff is trained and ready to help. Just to give you and idea of our capabilities we have handled tall ships such as the 108’ Canadian Barquentine Fair Jeanne.

MECHANICAL AND INSTALLATION SERVICES
Our mechanical and installation departments have been expanded and trained to install, upgrade and service today’s sophisticated new engines. We haven’t forgotten about the older engines either and can handle legacy mechanical systems and instrumentation.

REPAIR AND MODIFICATION SERVICES
We understand the importance of taking care of boats properly, we recognize that they are big investments. We can help you take care of your boat. We have a comprehensive fiberglass repair facility. Not only can we help with repairs but we have an environmentally safe, cavernous state-of-the-art painting room so we can help you make any modifications as you desire. This painting facility can hold yachts up to 70 feet in length, which is unique to southern Lake Michigan. What also makes it unique is the clean-room environment we have created to handle the job of painting your yacht. We have a staff of fiberglass experts who are trained and equipped to handle the demands of repairing today’s complex fiberglass systems.

ONE-STOP SHOPPING
Our new facility has allowed us to expand our Ship’s Store. We carry top of the line boating gear, accessories and service parts. In the Ship’s Store, we give our customers personal attention to find all the necessary products to get the job done, something that makes us stand out from our competitors! Our pledge is that if what you need isn’t in stock, then we will work with our extensive network of suppliers to order you the part.
